Leaving
In truth, the trip began a year ago. Whims became dreams, dreams became plans and finally plans turned into planes.
That extra e between plans and planes can be tricky but Christine has throughly done her research on every aspect of this trip.
Packing was very tricky for me, luckily I live with a pack goddess.
After hours of me trying and failing to fit my cloths into my suitcase, Christine sat down and within moments began folding space. Einstein would have been proud as space and time melted together in a bubbly mesh of folds, tucks, and stuffings. Everything on my pack list was now in my bag.
Both of have packed so that everything that we will use or need fits into a standard carry on size suitcase and back pack each. So, we had to make sure we had room for the essentials like our passports and important documents.
Another absolute essential for Christine was film =)
We waited in line for a boarding pass for 45 minutes, but surprisingly the security check was easy. At this point we began our normal activities away from home with a meal. A very nasty meal. Don't ever get pizza from Uno's Pizzeria at the airport, unless your getting it for someone as a cruel joke. As Christine put it, “This is worse than high school pizza.” I was curious. My curiosity was satisfied with a waxy bite of pizza even if my taste buds were not.
Other that the nasty pizza, the St. Louis airport was fine. We even picked up some St. Louis nick knacks to share with our soon to be new European friends.
The Chicago airport had an interesting sign. From a distance I thought it was advertising an airport vomitorium, turns out it was just drinking fountains.
Right before we boarded our plane to London, I played with my camera's filters and shot us. Ooooh blueish.
Ahhhh. Black and white
And then Christine with a cool back light. Right, now as I write this I'm on a train from London to Bath. So, I'm putting the laptop away and am going to enjoy the English country side.
